This past Saturday saw the first ever OpenCoffee Club Dublin meeting in NYG in the IFSC.
As a regular attendee of OpenCoffee, I was surprised and delighted to see many new faces, some new to OpenCoffee and some I had never met before. It was excellent, and there was not much overlap from the Thursday events which made me realize we need to keep this going.
The feedback from the event has been good, so while I had been thinking we would do this once a quarter on Saturdays, I proposed once a month. People seemed to think this is reasonable, but I’d like feedback from others as well.
Is once a month on Saturdays too frequent? It would be at the expense of one of the Thursdays, as I don’t know that we could sustain three events per month and still attract decent crowds. So my proposal is: first Thursday of the month at Digital Hub and third Saturday of the month at NYG.
Thoughts?
hi there:
I have to say it was great to be able to finally go to an open coffee, I think once a month is perfect third Saturday of every month seems like a perfect interval.
Great to see you there
Cheers
Andrea
Sounds good to me.
One thing I’ve noticed since is that there are a lot of “sleepers”. People who were interested in OCC, but gave up once they realised they couldn’t attend it.
That’s changed now, and the word needs to spread.
Eheh, I suppose I’ve been one of those “sleepers”. There is no way I can do Thursdays. Saturday sounds great though
Saturdays sound excellent!
I’m up for once a month brunch, coffee and chat.
However this month was the second saturday of the month. I guess choosing the third was to balance it out?
I have yet to make it along to a meeting, but am keen to do so as soon as possible. Saturday’s definitely work better for me, so I would be all in favour of having one meeting a month on a Saturday. Look forward to meeting you all at some stage.
Saturdays would be a lot more suitable than Thursdays.
