(As a reminder, we’re now meeting on Thursdays only once a month, always on the first Thursday of the month at the Digital Hub.  Saturday OpenCoffees are the third Saturday of the month at NYG.)

As a regular attendee of OpenCoffee, I was surprised and delighted to see many new faces, some new to OpenCoffee and some I had never met before.  It was excellent, and there was not much overlap from the Thursday events which made me realize we need to keep this going.

The feedback from the event has been good, so while I had been thinking we would do this once a quarter on Saturdays, I proposed once a month.  People seemed to think this is reasonable, but I’d like feedback from others as well.

Is once a month on Saturdays too frequent?  It would be at the expense of one of the Thursdays, as I don’t know that we could sustain three events per month and still attract decent crowds.  So my proposal is: first Thursday of the month at Digital Hub and third Saturday of the month at NYG.

Thoughts?

ALT.NET: (mentioning this again for those who don’t read the blog regularly) there is a special interest around doing something with alt.net.  We’re using this OpenCoffee to have some discussions around that and see who might be interested in having regular meetups for alt.net developers.

Please feel free to come along, bring a friend, etc.  If you’ve never been to OpenCoffee before, now is a great time to go and meet new people, as there are lots of folks who haven’t been able to make the regular Thursday OpenCoffees.

As an FYI we’re planning around brunch time, so it would be starting at 10:30 or 11-ish and then continue on as long as folks care to stay.

New York Grind seems to be an ideal location, but please use the comments below to suggest other suitable brunch spots (with wifi).
